perfect life

i guess putting the name of the singer on the title could cause unintended attention, so that's just a simple album title for this blog entry.

so i was right. life isn't perfect. thank god it isn't, so that we can have all these songs and music and artistic expressions to get us out of this big black hole.

random thoughts about each songs: ok the translation of each title is purely imaginary.
1. perfect life. another work composed by mr. manning. he was in some of beck's albums, and he likes to boogie. so we get a very retro style. i can totally picture mr. bean, or austin power dancing to this tune, and say "yeah babe~"
2. waking up
i like the layer of the song, and different vocal expressions of each part. especially the last chorus, which sounds very rock.
3. freedom.
the piano sounds nice. and i like the live version of this song.
4. practising being alone.
sounds very innocent. it's not whining about being alone, it simply stating the kind of status of being alone. which isn't too sad, but not too encouraging either. the song can go with rene liu's afterwards...you can actually put these songs together.:p okay.
5. souvenir.
the backup vocal reminds me of one of anthony's song. but can't remember which one.
6. no change
that was a lame translation for the title and one of my favorite songs in this album. this song pressed my button for tears. yeah, we said we won't change. but. so.
7. having you.
this is not a good moment to comment on this song. it's so emo.
8. early bloom.
flood. dying young is just so hard to deal with. i tried singing along with this song but can never finish singing without burst into tears. so the song goes to you, you, you, you and you. and me who is left behind.
9. missing
the voice equals a violin. or some kind of string. LOVE it. it's not too piercing, but very smooth. the voice blends in perfectly.
10 nite nite
so soothing. it's a gentle hug. thank you.

okay, this one should be a hidden track. it's a good idea to do some totally crazy hidden track .
