hofeshe was born in isreal, so the music is in a way isreali. the music reminds me of fiddlers on the roof, and it has a mesmerising effcts on people, the way that i witnessed the dancers in la, they can go on and on and on. and the drum beat is the key, it serves as a calling that connects people to the primitive state of mind. then there is politics, a dictator that enslave its people and/or control people. and people answer to that as well, though in the end they overthrow the ruler, just to have a new one insded. but they still have their folkdance. the thing that establish their identity and connect people together. isreali folk dance or tap, doesnt matter, or as we nowadays prefer, drumnbass. when there is pressure, we fight, and we dance. why am i crying now? even though dance doesnt change anything, it helps to release the pressure. and we survived. its capital p Politics as well as peesonal politics. in the end , they play the joni song both sidea now, and turned on the light, so as we look at them, they stare right back at us. with that empty stage, sent chill down my spine, n the whole place was misty just aa it was on the stage. the dance movements were in a way spasmatic, yet the energy flow comes from the core, and the step, the hand gesturea were really folky. they way they move their shiulders and stride, is in a way similar to ba jia jiang. which reminds me that folk dance isnt really in our culture, all the folk dance sequences were borrowed appropriated. is that why taiwanese are especially politically fanatic? now i remember the night we danced to the drumbeats that we got ourselvez into a trance. and on a relevent note: doctor who, the sound of drum, saxon, john simm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVktg2cY9vA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
