state of play 2003 BBC

Finally finished watching this mini series. Should have done that while i was THERE!! it was shown on 2003! alright, probably not the time i was there.

the original series is much better than the film adaptation. I mean, yeah, russell Crowe is a fine actor, but he doesn't look like ben affleck's classmate at all! where as in this series, the journalist was the mp's campaign director, which is more convincing. i really like if that they work as a team! not some bloody heroism in the american version. and i literally cried over bill nighy's line replying to his son (played by a very young mr McAvoy)"and for your mother's medical bills" and the final crying scene of Cal was...devastating.

if that politic thing in the uk can be translated into a good political thriller, by the BBC, i don't see why we can't have similar drama series of our own.

maybe it's because good journalism is merely a fantasy in this island now.
