it explore the idea about being seen and seeing others. the participants are led to a setting with different facilities and are free to do things in those facilities. it actually reminds of some video games like sim city, you get to change clothes, play ball with people, run , have a drink, have a massage, get crazy in a ball pool. there's also a female much like a window girl. when your eyes meet, she'll ask the participants to play a game with her.
and after about 30 minutes of wandering around the place, the participants are instructed to go to a place behind the wall, and have a seat . two 'guides' of the 'human zoo'. who kept on cracking jokes and talked about knowledges of human beings.
and the audience realize that there's a big window which look out to the outside 'play ground '
the experience part is like a baby boss for the adults, where you get to play different roles and play. the 'games' are taken out of contexts though, so i fail to make a connection of these chosen sites. then when the participants became the audience, they realize that everything they just did are being reported or explainsed. i wonder if there's any ethical issue.
and the guides were so noisy, so i had to turn off the volume at one point.
many of the actors were at another site specific performance last weekend.
theres more experiences provided i this show and the participants do get to talk to each other through these activities. the part about watching others was a bit boring. i almost fell asleep.
didn't really fully enjoyed the show. yet the idea is interesting. for most of the people.
wish i'm easier to please.
